Story

Akifusa and his wife, Shibano, share a deep affection but face the sorrow of infertility, a problem stemming from Akifusa. Despite their loving bond, the inability to conceive casts a shadow of quiet despair over their lives in a secluded village.

Their peaceful existence is altered when Genta, a young apprentice craftsman, moves into their home. Genta's polite demeanor and helpful nature introduce a fresh dynamic. Akifusa, observing Genta's growing admiration for Shibano, begins to harbor a desire to witness his wife's composed facade crumble under another man's attention.
